Inspired by the manly statuary, here’s Dean doing his 100-burpee-challenge burpees at Lichtenstein castle, Valtice, Czech Republic on Monday.
Running, especially short distances, is an integral part of CrossFit workouts. In W.O.D.s like Helen, Michael, Eva, Grif & especially Murph, running plays a large role. There are shorter distances (varying combinations of 400m & 800m) & the longest, which is Murph, includes 2 one-mile runs. Many of us know how fast we can run these distances, either on a track or in the street, but, are we able to run 5, 10 or more kilometers, even if we don’t regularly train those distances? Once in awhile, Coach Glassman puts them as part of the W.O.D. on CrossFit.com. Watch this video, showing where the athletes had to run during the 2009 CrossFit Games in Aromas, CA. The track was 7.1 k & very rugged terrain. In Prague, there are always various running competitions. Coming up, is the Běchovice-Prague run, which will be celebrating its 113t
h year. Another, the 76th annual Velká Kunratická run, is a great test of one’s ability in trail running. So, don’t procrastinate- sign up! Find out what your body can do. See you at the starting line!

Congratulations to his parents, Patrik & Eva.
Little Patrik was born to the Davids on Wednesday the 2nd of September at 9:45 at the Podoli hospital. Immediately at the start he weighed 3.170g & was 49cm long. The birth was long, but without complications. Mother & son are both in good health & good spirits.

14th of September. 102 days until Christmas eve. Mt Baker CrossFit is, once again, doing their Annual Burpee Challenge- & I think that we should join them.
It goes like this: today we start with one burpee; tomorrow, two, Wednesday three & by the 22nd of December we’ll end with 100 burpees. (We instructors have to do double the amount.)
Rules: Burpees occuring during a regular work-out don’t count. If you miss a day, you can make them up the next day- + a 20 burpee penalty. If you miss more than three days, you’re done. 3….2….1….starting tonight at training.
