Food ?!?!

Here we go. My first written spiel about food. Lately I’ve been asked a lot about food and nutrition. Coach Skip Chase says : “People want to look good naked”. But exercise is not enough to reach this goal, we also need to better our feeding habits. Since a young age we are educated by the government how to eat healthy; I think that everybody knows the food pyramid. Here are some examples how the government makes policies about food.

I’m pretty sure that similar decisions are made by all governments, not only the US one, unfortunately.  So, follow blogs like Rob Wolf’s & Mellisa Byer’s, read books from Dr. Cordain, Dr. Sears, Gary Taubes and more. Watch their lessons on youtube. Educate yourself in where your food comes from and what is really in it and what it does in your body.

Coach Glassman, in his wisdom, simplified it in 100 words : “Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.”

Have fun with it. Get mad. And CrossFit…
